Tevita Gets His Citizenship!!!

Congratulations to Tevita Foliaki his wife Coco Stone and his two children Saia and Kase. Tevita, who provides Security for the Wavecrest Complex recently was awarded his United States Citizenship. He came to Hawaii in 1996 and was married to Coco Stone in 1998. His son Saia He was born shortly thereafter and his daughter Kase He was born 3 years later.

Tevita applied for his green card right after his marriage and it took him one year and $4ooo to acquire the card. His wife persuaded him from then on to pursue his citizenship but Tevita felt that he couldn't read and speak English that well. When another Wavecrest employee, Miphel, got her citizenship she and many of his friends encouraged him to apply for his citizenship. It took him three months after his application to obtain his interview. Prior to taking the test he stayed up all night studying for his examination. However, in spite of being nervous Tevita was awarded his citizenship and should be very proud of his accomplishments. Congratulations were made by the staff hosting a lunch in his honor.

Kathy Shields

We have some sad news about one of our fellow Wavecrest Owners. Kathy Shields who owned A-302 passed away several days ago at her home in Katy, Texas. Thanks to Suzanne O'Connell for letting everyone know this very sad news.

Kathy was an energetic supporter of Wavecrest and was a former board member who was passionate in her support of all homeowners and the many facets involved in running the condo association.

She will be missed by everyone and her passing makes me reflect on how we must enjoy each day for none of us know how long we will be here. I was very lucky to have met her and will always remember her for her lively debate and care and concern for each of us.

Our sincerest condolences go out to her family, friends and especially her Wavecrest Ohana on Molokai.
