New Washer and Dryers in C Building

Its official, the C Building has all new Washer and Dryers on all three floors. I know that many of you have been wondering when it was going to happen so here is a picture of the first floor!
The place really is looking good and it is a very nice to be here right now. The Island is not really busy right now and all of the businesses in town welcome you with a big Aloha. I will be leaving Island on Friday and am starting to get sad at having to leave so soon.
As I said above the Island is not real busy right now. I was able to shop at Friendly Market the other day and didn't run into a single cart down the isles and two of the checkout people asked me to come to their line! Molokai Wine and Spirits was fully stocked with wine and cheese and the refrigerators at Mango Mart were bursting at the seams.

Its about time, good to see those in place, has the price per load stayed the same.
It amazes me that we pay the same dues that pay for
these escalating electricity costs and yet owners that
have washers and driers in their units, get the benefit.
We have to pay for every load we do.
How about making it more palatable by giving owners that own units without washers and driers a limited number of tokens to be used in these machines.
This was proposed before but fell on deaf ears.

If owners decide they want a washer and dryer they have the right to install them at their own expense inside their unit.

Washer/Dryer installations have been approved previously by the Board and the owner would need to file a request with the board and include the plans for the installation. The installation will have to meet existing codes.

While one can debate the wisdom of letting the genie out of the bottle, we have a track record of allowing these installations.

The financial decision to install a washer/dryer is a personal one. I think for the cost of the installation and the cost of getting a washer/dryer here you can do an awful lot of laundry at the common machines.

In the vein of proper disclosure, we do have a washer/dryer in our unit that was installed prior to our purchase in 2005. We use them ocasionally and never allow them to be used by renters or the cleaning staff after a guest check-out. We have used the common washer/dryers many times while here because we usually have ours disconnected.

I for one though would not support giving tokens for the use of the washer/dryers because it would be hard to control and the funds received from their use goes towards repairs and replacement.

Again, if one has the desire they can install their own so they don't have to use the common machines and thus would not have to pay for the use of the common machines.
